Build your own raised planters for less than 40$

Ok you have seen these raised planters on Facebook, Instagram and whatever. People are selling them between 90$ to over 200$. But you can build one for less than 40$CDN.

Here is the part list:

  • 1x 4x8 sheet of 5/8" plywood
  • 2x 2x3 lumber
  • 26x 1.5" deck screws
  • 8x 2" deck screws
  • Pneumatic braid nailer or just finishing nails and hammer
  • Wood teint (optional)
  • Thompson water seal (highly recommended)

Here is the 3D rendering of it. The total planting space is about 24" x 48":

The cutout on the plywood id pretty simple and does not need a whole deal of precision. The 2x3 lumber is used as legs and double as bottom support:

The whole cut and assembly takes maybe 2h and here is the final result:

If you are interested in the build details, please comment and I'll do a follow-up post with a full cut ans assembly tutorial.
